What is ChiffTown?
ChiffTown is a free virtual town where you hang out with people in themed video chat venues. Think of it as a social world — every building is a different vibe. The pub for casual chat, the nightclub for music and dancing, the cinema for watching films together, the arcade for games. Real people. Real conversations. No bots, no algorithms.
Do I need to download anything?
Nope. ChiffTown runs entirely in your browser — no app, no plugin, no account required. Just open the link and you're in. Works on Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. Mobile too.
Is ChiffTown free?
Yes — completely free. All venues, live video chat, text chat, XP system, achievements, and daily challenges are free. The core experience will always be free. We may introduce optional cosmetics in future, but the town itself stays open to everyone.
How many people can video chat at once?
Each venue supports up to 8 simultaneous video streams, with real-time text chat alongside. You can also use the invite feature to start a private room — share the link with friends and only they can join.
How does the XP and levelling system work?
You earn XP by visiting venues, chatting, completing daily challenges, playing mini-games, and exploring the town. As your level increases, new buildings unlock — the Arcade at Level 3, your Apartment at Level 2, the Casino at Level 7, and more. Level up fast by showing up every day for streak bonuses.
Can I invite friends to a private session?
Yes! Hit the Start a Room button on the town map to generate a unique invite link. Share it via WhatsApp, text, Discord — wherever. Anyone with the link joins your session directly. No account needed on their end either.
What venues are available?
There are 15+ venues across ChiffTown: The Chiff Inn (pub), Neon Pulse (nightclub), Starlight Cinema, Velvet Sky Lounge, Pixel Palace Arcade, The Golden Dice Casino, Adventure Guild, the Observatory, Aetherium Lab, Moonlit Pond, Pet Shelter, and more being added regularly.
Is ChiffTown safe and moderated?
ChiffTown has community standards in place. You can mute or leave any room instantly. We're building out moderation tools — reporting, room blocking, and safer spaces features are on the roadmap. For now, trust your instincts and leave any space that doesn't feel right.
